How to detect a good or bad coffee in only 5 steps

The bag:

Do you have a valve? This small detail is a good start. Valved bags allow carbon dioxide to be released without allowing oxygen to enter, keeping the coffee fresher for longer.

The label:

Always check the type of coffee. If it is 100% Arabica, you are on the right track. This type of coffee tends to be sweeter and smoother compared to other varieties.

Aroma:

It smells deep! Fruits, flowers or a burnt smell? If you detect a burnt smell, it is a clear sign of low quality.

Color:

Observe the color of the coffee. A very dark and bright tone could be indicative of a low quality coffee. How should it be? Look for an intense brown color, this is an indication of a careful and balanced roasting.

The expiration date:

Do not underestimate the importance of freshness. Check the expiration date and avoid drinking expired coffee. Remember, the fresher, the better your experience will be.
